How to Chat

< support home

When a chat request is initiated from your website a few things will occur, if you have speakers connected to your computer operators will hear an audible ringing noise. In addition, they will receive a popup in the computer's task bar and the pending chat session will show up under the Chatting Visitors section of the ClickAndChat Client Application. To pickup a chat session, operators can either click on the popup that appears in the task bar of the computer, or they can double click on the pending chat session under the Chatting Visitors section of the computer.

It is important to note that operators will only be able to answer chat requests if they're on online mode. If an operator is on any other mode besides from online, such as busy, be right back or away, they will be unable to answer the chat session. The operator status can be setup by selected one of the 4 options from the Visitors tab of the ClickAndChat Client Application.

Some customizable settings...

Keeping the task bar popup on the screen until the chat session has been answered:

  1. Options tab
  2. Options button
  3. Popups tab
  4. Leave chat request popups on my screen until I answer them.

Changing the sound that occurs when a new chat session is initiated:

  1. Options tab
  2. Options button
  3. Popups tab
  4. Press the folder image next to new chat request to select a different sounds file from your computer.
